Here’s the commenter’s review:

having been to the Ale House several times, I’ll try and give a fairly detailed review.  The first thing you notice when you walk in is the TVs…everywhere.  There are about 20 HD televisions in this bar, usually tune to any one of several sporting events.

The menu is pretty standard bar food that could use a bit more variety with a few non meat items( given that asheville has a fairly large number of vegetarians)  Food quality/prep overall is pretty good and the wings are excellent.

The service is generally good and the management seem to be pretty friendly with their customers…however I feel this bar needs to find a more clear identity.  I don’t think they are completely sure of what there clientel is and or needs to be yet, but I imagine that will get figured out over time.

It’s a great place to watch any sort of sporting event (especuially NFL games during the fall as they have Sunday TIcket).  As for spending time there outside of those events you’ll have to check it out for yoself to see if it is your scene or not

I was there the night you came in, as i recall the ad in the mountain express was of one that was a wk past due. And the day you happened to come in was a Thursday, the loss of a potential regular who cares, seriously if you were going to be a potential regular then you would of stayed anyways and tried something you might like!!!! CHEAP-O!!

Saw their ad in the Mountain Express about $1 PBRs Monday-Thursday and went to check it out, but was told that "since we’re doing cheap wings tonight," the $1 beers weren’t happening. How cheap wings, which we weren’t even interested in, affected our ability to simply purchase the as-advertised $1 beer was beyond us, so we got up and left. We had never been there before and thought it would be a good opportunity to check out another neighborhood bar, but if you can’t uphold an advertising promise then you don’t deserve my business. The place was completely dead that night and you’d think the management would’ve tried to drum up some business by honoring their advertisement. Instead, they lost two potential regulars.

I give the place six more months.
