Avett Brothers: A Winston-Salem night to remember

Ashvegas tripped on down the mountain Friday night to follow the band we absolutely love, the Avett Brothers. You’ve heard us rave about these guys before – head-bangin’ bluegrass, soulful songwriting and a frickin’ force of nature in a live show.
In contrast to the Orange Peel show from a couple of weeks ago, the Avetts on Friday in Winston-Salem were a little more mellow, perhaps a bit road weary. They played in Boone at Appalachain State University on Thursday night.
After a slow start, the band found a second wind and really put together a nice show in a great setting – a very intimate little ampitheater in downtown Winston-Salem, at the city’s Rock the Block party.
So we’re just back, and working on posting a bunch of photos to the blog, as well as our flickr account. We’ve also got video we’ll be posting.
If you were a lucky recipient of an Ashvegas bumpersticker and you’ve come by, well – thanks for visiting and stayed tuned. More Avetts on the way.
