Here’s the news from loyal reader Jake, another huge Avett Brother’s fan. He’s commenting on my post here:

Yeah, I heard on WNCW last night (while I was planting Cecil signs at various precincts) that tix go on sale at noon on Friday for a NYE show at Thomas Wolfe. Quite a coup for the Civic Center, IMHO. Well done! (Of course, I said the same thing about the Phish show when it was announced and then got shut out. Sure hope I get tix this time.)

I don’t have this confirmed through the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium or the Avett Brothers yet, but the band says it will make an announcement at some point today about end-of-year shows. I’ll let you know as soon as I get more.

As promised, we have just announced three new shows to end a great 2009… Help us ring in the New Year in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia!

Tickets for all three shows will go on sale to those signed up for our email list* tomorrow(October 7th), and to the general public this Thursday, October 8th.

*Look for an email between 10-10:30 AM EST with purchase directions. The email list pre-sale will last 24 hours, starting at 12 PM EST tomorrow.
