Ashvegas is just back from voting, where we recorded the 244th vote in our West Ashvegas precinct at about 10:45 a.m.. Mayor Terry Bellamy was outside the polling place to greet us, and handed us a flyer for judge Patricia Timmons-Goodson.

The parking lot was a cluster-eff because the polling place is at a city school, which, for some unknown reason, is actually in session today. What happened to taking a teacher workday on Election Day? We ended up parking in the grass behind a Dumpster. How appropriate.

There were about a dozen people inside the polling place, in the process of voting. There was at least one wino. We got drunk standing behind him in line. Don’t worry, though. That didn’t affect the way we voted.

Morning turnout feels steady, but not gangbusters.
