Asheville Bravo! Concerts brings some of the highest quality music and arts entertainment that we see here in Ashvegas. Support this great organization by getting out to shows.

And, courtesy of Asheville Bravo!, I’m giving away two tickets to see Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium on Sept. 26. Be the first to answer the following question in the comments section on this blog post: Where was Nadja born?

More, from Asheville Bravo’s web site:

Since bursting on the music scene in the 1980’s as the youngest winner of the Walter M. Naumberg International Violin Competition, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg has remained in the media spotlight, and established herself as one of the elite violinists of her generation with a style that is deeply personal and defiantly musical.

For over two decades she has collaborated with acclaimed pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, for recitals, tours and album recordings. Their performance brings together two powerful personalities for a dynamic musical conversation.

    Restless,

If, for any reason, you are unable to fulfill your fan duty to see the greatest, most passionate musician ever, in the history of the world, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, I would be happy to drive down to Ashville this weekend from Buffalo to fill in for you. You are SOOO lucky. Congrats!

Salerno-Sonnenberg was born in Rome, Italy, to an Italian pianist and her husband, a Russian singer who deserted the family when his daughter was three months old. Salemo-SonnenbergÕs name is a composite of her motherÕs maiden name and the name of her stepfather, who also left the family.

Congrats, restless. I really wanted to go, but realized I have tickets to another show on the same night. I hope you enjoy it, it sounds like Bravo has lined up a great act.
