Press release here from loyal reader Dusty:

Join us for “An Evening with Fret Knot Radio Hour.” The event will be hosted at Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe in historic downtown Asheville on March 24th at 7 pm.

We are very proud to welcome Amanda and Peter of The Honeycutters to the stage for the evening’s musical performance. Hailing from Asheville, “their original americana, ranging from country ballads to honky-a-billy and blues, is a memorable blend of catchy melody, skillful composition, and honest songwriting.”

Fret Knot Radio Hour will pair them up with representatives Franzi and Caroline from theAsheville Grown Business Alliance – a grassroots organization whose mission is to support independently owned businesses in the community. We are very eager to get them on stage to share their vision with all of us.

We were on the prowl for a special guest from the creative community to complete this terrific evening – wrought with fetching music, spoken word and community development – and we were very fortunate to connect with Brian Lee Knopp, author of the book Mayhem in Mayberry – Malaprop’s #1 Paperback Non-fiction book of 2009! We are certainly pleased that he will make an appearance.

As per our About Us page, “Fret Knot Radio Hour seeks to provide a unique experience for our audience, bringing together musicians and advocates on the stage in a charming forum setting. Our host will pick at their brains, the musicians will pick at ‘em instrument strings, our guests will pick at your heartstrings – and our audience will know that on this night, they picked the right place.”
