Let’s face it – Ashvegas is a green town. We’ve got beautiful green spaces. We’ve got Shindig on the Green. We’ve got all kinds of green, enviro people. We’ve got Asheville Green Builders. We’ve got Green Radio Bistro. We’ve got Asheville’s Green. There are plenty more examples.
We also know the green folks like to party. So here’s a new addition to the local meet-ups of green-like people. Check out Asheville Green Drinks, held at 6:30 p.m. every Friday at the funky Bobo Gallery at 22 N. Lexington Ave.

Loyal reader John, who asked to be info-pimped, offers this:
Select organic wines and beers will be available at special prices from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. As always Bobo Galley will feature Asheville’s hippest musical talent. Aditionally, Bobo’s proprietor, Brad Reichardt, will have some special surprises as this community event matures and it’s following grows. Asheville Green Drinks is an outgrowth of Enviro Beer Night hosted by Ulla-Britt Reeves. Ulla has invited the Enviro Beer Night folks to see if a weekly Friday night gig might achieve an even greener effect. We will be hosting their calendar of events at www.AshevilleGreenDrinks.com as well as looking for more green networkers. Bring your green clique and chatter box to Bobo Gallery, too.
Wait, there’s more. These people are serious:
Our hope is that Asheville Green Drinks will bring together a variety of different people and professions who normally dont interact together to network, collaborate and celebrate the ecologically responsible mandate we all have. This is a cross generational-cultural-interest event with the earth as our focus. Each week a member of the community will host a theme and one 10 minute presentation followed by some Q&A, dialoge, more drinks, green-elbow-rubbing and enjoyment. Topics will range from green building to alternative local energy to climate change, et al
Come along and you’ll be made welcome. Just say, “are you green?” and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there.
Much like Drinking Liberally, which has been on the Ashvegas scene for awhile, this gathering sounds like a cool meeting of like-minded people.
I think the first one was last Friday? Enviro-spouse was there. And yeah, they’re serious. More organic wine might help.
