Hotel construction in Ashvegas: any updates?

There are all kinds of projects going on in Ashvegas, and I’m just trying to keep up. Over on the MountainX forums, someone posted a link to a construction web site announcing the construction of a new hotel in downtown Ashvegas. The map shows it to be right across the street from the Asheville Civic Center. What is going on?

The last plan for that area, which is parking and a former restaurant, was to build a parking deck there. But some determined residents and a skittish city council that had already poured millions of dollars of taxpayer money into parking deck studies, ended up doing nothing.

What other projects are happening? Well, a company is going to turn the old Asheville Chamber of Commerce building into a boutique hotel. Not sure when that project will get started.

There’s a hotel going up in Biltmore right across from the entrance to the Biltmore House.

Did they ever finish that hotel on Tunnel Road that was under construction for-ever?

There’s plenty more, i just can’t think of ’em all.
