Click here to read the Huffington Post story. That’s pretty cool. And it’s quite a nod to the work that a variety of local organizations have done to raise Asheville’s food profile. It’s a credit to our local restaurants and chefs, non-profits such as the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project and the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and its aggressive marketing.

From HuffPo:

Dubbed the Foodtopian Society, Asheville boasts an incredible array of locavore cuisine at its 135 restaurants, 17 farmers markets, 7 microbreweries and 11 annual food festivals.

Best Green Eats:
Fig Bistro is celebrated for its green menu made of local ingredients from nearby farms.
The Laughing Seed Café (pictured), a vegetarian eatery, offers an array of organic dishes.

Asheville was the number 1 city yesterday.Vote and encourage others to vote for Asheville–and we’ll be number 1 again.

Also: Thanks to diners who make an effort seek out local foods. Try these restaurants:

And ask for local food at others.

And thanks to local media for spreading the word about our farms and cuisine.
