Be afraid. A sitting president wants to address school children – our future leaders – during desperate times. He wants to try to make a positive impression. He wants to let them know the hard work they are already doing is critical to the the nation and the world. He wants to encourage them to keep up that critical effort and to keep us headed in the right direction. This speech to American kids is a controversial issue? Be very afraid.
dempol
Our president is going to tell children to stay in school, work hard, make a contribution to their communities. What is the issue with this statement??? My word, didn’t Ronald Reagan give a speech to school children about tax cuts- I remember that speech! What the hell is the problem with Obama’s speech? Grrrrrrrrr…………
After the President of the United States speaks to school children about the value of education, Republicans will make opposing comments extolling ignorance.

Let me get this write-
If you want to bring a loaded gun and sit outside a presidential speech, that’s ok,
even after Squeaky Fromme, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinkley, Sirhan Sirhan, etc.
But if we’re going to let small children listen to the president speak after an election that all concede was won by a majority (tho some fault McCain for not challengin the validity of Obama’s citizenship),
we need to have protections in place??
