Loyal reader C sends this along and urges people to sign up and help:

Pack and Sort at MANNA (Day of Service – January 19)

Help sort food at MANNA Food Bank to be given to 360 agencies serving hungry people in Western North Carolina. Volunteers will assist with sorting and preparing donations or helping with monthly mailings. Volunteers may also assist by packing food into backpacks for children who are dependent on free or reduced cost lunch and might otherwise go hungry over the weekend.

Volunteers are welcome to bring nonperishable food items to donate to MANNA to help them feed the hungry of WNC. Youth ages 5-15 are welcome to volunteer with adult supervision (infants in backpack/carrier welcome to accompany parent). Youth ages 16+ welcome. If you represent a group of youth (under age 18) who wishes to participate in this project, please email Hands On so we can help coordinate your participation: [email protected].

Go here to sign up.

Time: Monday, January 19 6:00 PM – January 20 2:00 AM
Host: Points of Light
