Image: Asheville Scene Blog. EatScenefood blog has a great scoop: The owner of Suwana’s Thai Orchid, one of the best and most underrated Thai restaurants in Asheville, is partnering with BoBo Art Gallery to offer pho on Lexington Ave.

Mackensy Lunsford of Asheville Scene’s Eat Scene blog says Suwana Cry‘s new pho restaurant will occupy the spot next to BoBo, where the recently vacated Green Light Cafe once served vegetarian food.

Cry is the owner of the luscious Suwana’s Thai Orchid at 11 Broadway, IMO the most underrated restaurant in Asheville.

From EatScene:

Registered under the LLC Bobo Pho, the new business will likely open in about two months, Cry said. “I want to open tomorrow though! But you know how the system is.”

Cry has run restaurants in Bangkok, Africa, Indonesia, Mississippi and Louisiana. “After Katrina I had to bail out down there. I moved up to high ground, I guess,” she said laughing.

The pho restaurant’s menu will be simple, mostly concentrating on the classic Vietnamese noodle soup. “We don’t want to have much that’s the same as Thai Orchid,” Cry said. “(It will be) easy, cheap and we’ll also cater to late crowds because we’re going to upgrade the bar side; we’ll be a late-night spot also.”
