The Land of Sky Regional Council is pleased to announce the opening of the ReCycle This Site design competition. This competition offers current graduate and undergraduate architectural students the chance to design an environmentally sound space to live, work and play in Asheville’s artistic River District. This 13-acre site offers the opportunity for a mixed-use development through new building and adaptive reuse of existing structures and materials.

Design schemes should address creative programmatic response to the adaptive reuse of the buildings and site including residential, commercial, and office space. Submissions should consider LEED as sustainability guidance and include low environmental impact solutions.
