When: 5:30-9pm, May 26

Why: To kickoff the month long Save the French Broad campaign, designed to raise funds for the French Broad River Paddle Trail.

What: Kickoff party for month long Save the French Broad Campaign including live music by Stumpwater Blue Grass, Cornhole Challenge, Screaming Good Sweetwater Beer Special, including limited special of Waterkeeper Ale, and grilling.

For the month of June the fishing will be good throughout the French Broad River Watershed, as around 20 bars, restaurants and businesses will be selling paper fish that encourage the public to “give of your live to save the river.” This campaign with Sweetwater Brewery and Clear Channel Asheville is part of a much larger drive to raise funds to implement the French Broad River Paddle Trail. The Paddle Trail is a Western North Carolina Alliance project to connect the French Broad River through campsites and additional access points.
