Sixty Second Parent, the two-year-old parenting website launched by Asheville’s most well-known pediatrician, Dr. Olson Huff, plans to begin publishing a parenting magazine in Asheville. The company recently had a job posting up in search of an advertising sales rep.

Sixty Second Parent has been steadily building its business since its 2008 launch. Huff, who launched the website with his son, Steve, a successful entrepreneur, published a Sixty Second Parent book not long after. Huff has since published a second book.

There’s certainly a need for good information, both online and in print, for healthy parenting and healthy kids. Can a new magazine successfully launch in this touch economy? Will the magazine feature local news and stories, or will it be mostly “advertorial” type content? Will it be printed on newsprint? Many questions.
