Powerball jackpot is $205 million
Russ “Beefcake” Bowen told us that the Powerball jackpot is up to $205 million, the largest jackpot since North Carolina joined the lottery. Holly Headache stood in some convenience store and said ticket sales are brisk – they’re selling at about $1,000 a minute. Holly talked to one woman who said she uses family birth dates for her numbers. That’s original.

In other news…
WLOSers showed us lame video of a crumbling building somewhere. They said a car hit it… The assistant chief injured when he turned his Ceder Mountain Fire Department truck on its side after the brakes failed is doing OK… The people at Mountain Terrace Mobile Home Park out in Weaverville are going to hold car washes to raise money to move their trailers out of the park. They have to be out by May to make way for Wal-Mart and Lowe’s… There was a sustainable energy forum in Brevard on Saturday. We blogged it… And Julie Blunder said we’ll mostly get cold rain on Sunday.

Pet, the damage was minimal – some crumbling exterior. WLOSers didn’t identify it – just said it was in West Asheville, on Ridgelawn Ave.

    thanks!

Since I am without the illustrious WLOS- what building crumpled? Was it local? Isn’t this the second building collapse due to A CAR? Is it an epidemic? Do when need to notify the Department of Homeland Security?

And I like the new look…
