From the Beer Guy at the Asheville Citizen-Times:

Highland, 12 Old Charlotte Highway, has started work on its long-discussed tasting room addition, to be in a building adjoining the main brewery. It should be open in June or July, but “construction is moving really fast,” said Highland founder Oscar Wong.

Highland continues to entertain guests each Friday night in the brewery and on a backyard patio. While visitors are welcome daily, Friday nights are reserved for a bigger bash, with live music, food from a restaurant or catering service and pints for sale, 4-8 p.m.

Pisgah Brewing is adding an outdoor stage at its brewery, 150 Eastside Drive, in Black Mountain. The brewery already pulls big crowds for live music. The stage, being built in that field behind the brewery, will provide a bigger showcase, co-owner Jason Caughman said. Pisgah, which just marked its fifth anniversary, is planning an anniversary brew in about a month, he said.

It’s worth noting that David Quinn, who founded Pisgah with Caughman, is no longer involved in day-to-day activities, but maintains a co-ownership. Pisgah will continue producing a big line of beers including its flagship pale ale and frequent seasonals.
