WLOS: Ryan’s Steakhouse on Patton Avenue closed, buffet lovers outraged

WLOS reports that Ryan’s Steakhouse on Patton Avenue, known for its cheap buffet food – think salad bar, ice cream bar, potato bar, etc. – has closed. From WLOSer Sheraldo:

A landmark restaurant suddenly shuts down and fires more than 30 workers. Ryan’s Restaurant on Patton Avenue in Asheville closed Wednesday.
Customers were outraged because the all-you-can-eat buffet was less than six dollars, and had become part of some people’s routines on the city’s west side.

Background from January on the restaurant parent company’s bankruptcy filing.

  1. White Lightnin says:

My favorite part of the report was when one of the unwashed masses yearning for the buffet assessed management’s decision by stating: “Yuns is idiots.”

    Well said, my camo-clad brethren.

Now, get thee to the Ryan’s near Biltmore Square Mall. I hear they have a napkin bib with your name one in.

think of the weight loss that will occur now that the “all yuns can eat” buffet has closed … and just when they got the chocolate wondefall and cotton candy too (my two favorite food groups) …

  3. Eric says:

I foresee a Golden Corral to take this spot.
