Chad – I haven’t seen Bill Norwood in a couple of years, but he was interviewed the day Grove Park demolished the old house & studio on Macon Avenue. I’m pretty sure it would be a big story when he left this world to join WLOS’s Alice the Ghost and, now, GPI’s Pink Lady.

On another note, just ran across some old print ads I did when working at WLOS. Anyone remember Bowling For Dollars? What a lame concept – but people loved it! A guy in my department was the producer – Rob Miller. He’s now a screenwriter in LA and has Christmas movies that run every year on stations like ABC Family.

That’s just exactly how it looked at our house in Lake Toxaway on our 19" Zenith before Cable TV came!

Wow, what a flashback! I worked at WLOS in the 80s in the Promotion Dept and just hearing the voice of the late, great Ed Dyer brings back many memories. It makes me want to dig through my closet for the old promos we produced (except they’re on 3/4" tape and who knows where you could find a tape machine to accept that format). You’d get a kick out of ’em.

Thanks, Ash – that was fun.

The great Ed Dyer is my Grandfather and I miss him Dearly. MY favorite were his brendles and sky city commercials!! Thanks for your comment. :0
