The Blue Ridge Parkway is open now between Asheville and Craggy Gardens, and north to Mount Mitchell State Park, after a nine-month closure for road construction. I was surprised that the parkway road remains in seriously rough condition. More road work ahead.
This view is about 15 miles south of Mount Mitchell, so the elevation is right about 5,000 feet above sea level. This photo was shot last week.
